Deep Drop Rigs: Complete Guide 2026

Deep drop rigs are purpose-built terminal tackle designed to present baits hundreds of feet below the surface, where grouper, tilefish, and other deep-water species feed. The chicken rig, stiff rig, and dropper rig each shine in different depths and currents, from 300 feet down past 1,500 feet. Pick the right rig for the conditions and you will put more fish in the boat.
